What type of pricing strategy is WaWa trying to do by encouraging gas customers to pay with cash?

WaWa is encouraging gas customers to pay with cash instead of credit cards. They are trying to get the news out about it and it's already expanded throughout Pennsylvania and is going to be offered in Maryland, New Jersey, and many other states. What sort of pricing strategy does this seem to be and WHY?

I can't afford gas no matter how I pay for it. WaWa??????
Reply:Many people don't realize this, but credit card companies charge a percentage fee to companies that accept credit cards, so charging more for taking a credit card is their way of passing on that fee to the customer.

Wawa has charged a higher price for credit cards in my area for a while now.
