Can i cash a check written out to cash without identification?

I dont have any identification at the moment and i have a check made out to cash. can i cash it without id?

If it's made out in your name to cash, you will need id. If it's just made payable to cash, you won't need id, providing the cheque has been signed correctly and "Not Negotiable" has been removed.
Reply:Most likely not. If you dont show identification then anyone could cash it! Most places ask for ID to cash a check. Some branches will do it though!
Reply:you can cash it if it's made out to cash or bearer anyone in possesion of that check can cash it. i dont think you will need id but just in case you might want to have it with u
Reply:That depends....if the people at the bank know you personally, then they prolly will.....my bank does it for me, but if you are wanting to cash it at a branch where they don't know you, you are prolly outta luck:(
