Where is the best place to cash my tax refund check?

Do the banks cash the tax refund checks? How much percentage would they charge for cashing a third party check? Thanks !!!

Where is the best place to cash my tax refund check?
I'm not sure if a bank will cash your check if you do not have an account there-most banks don't. My 17 yr old son does not have an account either so I just had him sign it and cashed it for him at my bank. If you have a relative it might be easier to do it that way. There are check cashing places but some of them charge high fees...just check around. I know several people use Walmart so you might go to their Customer Service desk and cash it there, but they do have restrictions but at least their fee is low. Hope you find a place!
Reply:The best place would be in my bank account. I'll keep an eye on it for you - don't worry.
Reply:The percentages banks take are different at every bank so you have to check. Some banks won't cash unless you have an account with them. Wal-Mart will cash any govornment or payroll check up to a thousand dollars and there fee is only $3. Otherwise there are places like check express or you can try some payday loan places. Casinos will also cash your check with a proper ID. Watch those casino check places though because some charge a very high fee for doing it.
Reply:You don't have a checking account? First time I've heard of someone who pays taxes not having a bank account.
Reply:Well, I cashed mine at my bank free of charge. Cash your check at your bank, if you do not have a bank acct then will have to go to a check cashing place that will charge you a fee. Try Walmart if its not a really large return amount, they only charge 3.00.
Reply:If you don't have a bank account, but went to one of the major companies (H%26amp;R Block, Jackson-Hewitt, or Liberty Tax Services) to do your taxes, you may be able get your refund check cashed at whichever bank the office deals with for a very low (I heard of one that was $2 or $4 last year) or possibly no fee.
