How can I cash this tax return check?

My tex return check has both my name and my wifes name. She lives in the Philippines. I know I can have her sign it but I still can not have it deposited in my account since it is not a joint account. How can I go about cashing this check. I was planning to use this money to bring my wife here so I have a real catch 22, can't cash till shes here, can't get her here to I cash it.

How can I cash this tax return check?

Reply:Open a joint account, deposit the check. Withdraw the money once the cheque has been cleared. There is no harm keeping the joint account for future transactions.

Actually you can sign your wife's name on the check and it is legal - husband and wife can do this. I sign my husband's name all the time on his checks.
Reply:maybe things have changed,, my ex signed hundreds of my checks and deposited them,, the bank never questioned her,,
Reply:I m not sure if this is possible in the Philippines but maybe she can send you a power of attorney ..that will do the trick
