Can I cash a Wachovia check at Wachovia if my Wachovia account is overdrawn?

I already have a wachovia account that is overdrawn that I am paying on every week .I just got a check from someone but its a wacovia check. If I go there and try to cash it only, will they keep it towards my overdrafted account ?

It's 50/50... I got away with it at Wachovia, but at Bank of America, they tried to put the check towards my over drafted account. If they try that just snatch it back and take it to a check cashing place. They charge a bit for the service but it's better than having nothing. And Randy P, you don't know his situation. I got into trouble with the bank when my mom suffered a stroke. Any unexpected sudden event can throw you into financial turmoil and the world of overdrafts.
Reply:This depends on the teller. If the teller recognizes you as a customer that is overdrawn, then yes, you will have to pay it towards the balance that you owe. If the teller doesn't recognize you, he/she may just ask for I.D. and cash the check for you as if you weren't a customer of the bank.
Reply:I agree with the person who told you to pay off the overdraft. You don't want something like that staying out there.

Paying back what you borrow is the right thing to do.
Reply:Well you do owe them the money. How much did you overdraft? Are you that poor a money manager? The quicker you get the money paid back the better off you will be.
Reply:If you are overdrawn, they won't even let you cash PART of the check. They will hold the ENTIRE amount until the check clears.
Reply:They will take part of the check to take care of the overdraft that you have. Better take it somewhere else.
Reply:Sure, they'll give you double credit because it's their bank.
Reply:They will keep it towards what you owe them...sign over to someone else to cash for you.
Reply:Yes they will. Cash it somewhere else.
